Motivation

We are convinced that the Bible gives us essential guidelines for a successful, happy and fulfilled life. Motivating children to be all they can be comes from activating a personal knowledge within each heart that one is valued, unique, and important in the eyes of God. Through character-building classes, personal counseling, and group activities, we aim to light in each person’s heart a fire for progress and start to change their future, today.

We surprised the young people at this center with games and movies, paintings and decor, and equipment such as braais, weighing scales and educational books.
This youth center also serves as a halfway home for youngsters who are too old to remain at the Baphumelele Orphanage but not yet ready to join the work-force.
Along with skills training the youth here receive any needed education and instruction to prepare them to become a useful part of society.
We are happy to help them on their way to a brighter future.

Each of the precious children in these rural areas received a large warm blanket, to help them make it through this very cold and wet winter. The young people of Helping Hand were there to hand out the items, wrap the blankets around the children, say kind words, and give warm smiles. It was both wonderful and heart-wrenching to see the living conditions of so many this winter.

On top of the blankets we were able to distribute needed food parcels with fresh food, cheese, and meat to every person in these communities. Both the children and adults were most grateful for the help, thanking us over and over!

How lovely it was to see how the children and staff of Baphumelele Orphanage reacted to the gift of several inflatable swimming pools, toys, armbands, and also some awesome donated sports equipment!!

Some awesome fun in the sun for these dear little ones, who have already suffered much in life, and can do with every bit of love, care, and joy!

At Sunday School, (on Father’s Day) the message was on fathers and the ideal qualities which a good father has. (for example, kindness, strength, protectiveness, love, teaching, etc) Then we showed them how God is our ultimate loving Father, and invites us into his family forever through trust and belief in His Son Jesus Christ. When the lesson concluded, we invited any who hadn’t yet received Salvation to do so, and three of the children accepted Christ into their lives! Hallelujah! The chocolates that they all were given to take home were an extra little touch of care from Above. What a joy!

It was an incredible day! After loading our vans with dozens of boxes of clothes, shoes, linens, blankets, and more, we drove out to a community hall in Scotsdene. We worked with a local leader who both personally knows and deeply cares for the downtrodden in the area.

When we arrived and began to set up, there were already many waiting, and more and more and more arrived as time passed!

The clothes and shoes were laid out by types, age, gender, etc, and bit by bit, all the people came past the tables and chose several things to take home! It was so beautiful to see their grateful smiles and amazement at receiving – completely free of charge – all manner of lovely items which they could never have afforded! And all the children got a snack!
